We would like to welcome you to Cross Creek!   The Yearling Restaurant was first opened in 1952, just down the road from Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings' home in Cross Creek,Florida.  The restaurant was named after Marjorie's most famous book.  Her home still stands just down the road, lovingly preserved, and open to visitors. We highly recommend a visit.  We have tried to capture the flavor and spirit of old Florida as well.  Please take a stroll back in time, under the granddaddy oaks and palms, for a taste of old Florida.

The Yearling Restaurant is located on CR325 in Cross Creek, just 14 miles from Gainesville and 25 miles from Ocala.  The mile long creek connects Orange Lake and  and Lochloosa Lake .  Both lakes are known for great fishing.  Wildlife abounds around the area.  CR 325 has been named a Florida Scenic Highway.

The Yearling is considered one of the best restaurants in the state by Florida Trend Magazine.
Our menu includes items such as:
Gator, Frog Legs, Venison, Quail and Duck Breast
More traditional items include:
USDA Prime Beef, Stuffed Grouper, Shrimp, Scallops, Oysters and Catfish.

We also have a large dining area available for private parties on
